Midtown: This part of
New York, particularly the northern half of Midtown
(Midtown North), is considered as the center of the
city. It includes such world-famous places as Rockefeller
Center, Chrysler Building, and Times Square. The core
commercial area extends from 40th Street up to 59th
Street (Central Park South) and from 3rd Avenue in
the east to 8th or 9th Avenue in the west. The southern
half of Midtown (Midtown South), however, has a lot
to offer as well - including such tourist destinations
as Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, and
Union Square.
