Upper Manhattan: Central Park located in the middle of the island divides the Upper Manhattan into two sections - namely, the Upper East and Upper West sides. Central Park, a rectangle of 2.5 miles by 0.5 mile, or 4 km by 800 m, is not only an oasis for Manhattanites escaping from their skyscrapers but also a tourist destination with many points of interest. Also, there are so many museums in the Upper Manhattan. Be prepared to spend several days if you want to visit all the major ones.
